  • Snowmaking Commences at Mt Buller

    26/05/2008

Mt Buller is set for a white start to the 2008 snow season after snow making commenced for the first time at 12:30am this morning. The season officially opens on the Queen's Birthday long weekend, and BSL General Manager Laurie Blampied said it was the most positive start to the season since 2000.

"We have started making snow on some of our most popular intermediate terrain including the Bourke Street and Summit areas. Weather forecasts for the next few days show favourable conditions for continued snowmaking and we are hopeful that our guests will be making their first turns of the season when the resort officially opens in two weeks," said Mr Blampied.

"Mt Buller has invested an additional $300,000 in automated snowmaking guns over the Baldy, Bourke Street and the expanded village snowplay area and Mt Buller's snowmaking will be further enhanced by the recently commissioned, ultra filtration program which produces 90ML of recycled water per year," he said.
