More lifts open as snow continues to fall at Mt Buller!

A further six centimeters of fresh snow has fallen today at Mt Buller and an additional three lifts have opened for skiers and boarders.

With up to 69 centimetres of snow across the resort, Mt Buller guests can now ride the Emirates Discovery and Burnt Hut Chairlifts, as well as the Skyline T-Bar. This provides guests with access to further beginner and intermediate terrain, improving their on-mountain snow experience.

With snow still falling and continuing favourable conditions, Mt Buller is preparing to open further lifts prior to the weekend.

“Lift operations are being assessed daily, with an additional three lifts being prepared to open before the weekend,” said Laurie Blampied, General Manager of Buller Ski Lifts.

"It's a great time to get out there and hit the slopes. The snow is fantastic and there is an air of excitement around the village. People know that winter has really set in."

This week sees the continuation of Mt Buller’s popular Kids’ Week program which culminates on the weekend with Superheroes on Snow Day. Kids and instructors will dress as their favourite superheroes and take to the slopes.

Mt Buller will also play host to the Snowboarder Demo Weekend this Saturday and Sunday, located at Bluff View, giving snowboarders the chance to test all their favourite gear and mingle with industry suppliers and pros.

The largest event spectacle of the weekend is without doubt the Cattleman's Rail Jam, presented by Burton. Qualifying heats will be held within the Mt Buller Park throughout the day, allowing snowboarders of all ages to vie for a wildcard entry into the night event. The night-time final is held under lights in the village square and is the ultimate snowboarding spectacular, with 10 of Australia’s top snowboarders hitting the Cattleman’s rail to compete for the $5,000 prize pool. This fast paced action packed event, will shock, surprise and entertain guests of all ages.
